UPDF Solider Fires Live Bullets, Leaves 7 Dead

Seven UPDF soldiers have been killed after a soldier attached Mburamaizi barracks in Kanungu district of western Uganda and opened live bullets that left 7 of them dead.


According to the army spokesperson Kigezi region LT Fidel Mashumbuko said that lance Corporal Moses Kyatoka from Bushenyi district attached to the same barracks killed two soldiers and 5 civilians and injuring an unknown number of civilians.

Lance Corporal has been working as a nurse at the barracks and he developed a misunderstanding with his wife who is also a soldier and killed her and a soldier who had tried to intervene.

It’s said that on his escape he killed more civilians whom he met across and after losing bullets he decided to hand himself to the police.
More investigations are still going on.
