Uganda: Court Orders Electoral Commission to Avail Declaration Forms to Mbabazi

Chief Justice Bart Katureebe has ordered the Electoral Commission to avail declaration forms of the 18th February presidential elections to Amama Mbabazi lawyers.


The chief justice ordered the commission to avail DR forms during Thursday’s afternoon hearing at the Supreme Court.

Enos Tumusiime, one of the lawyers representing the Electoral commission told court that it availed all election results to the presidential candidate.

Twinobusingye Severino, one of Mbabazi lawyers interjected telling court that they are yet to receive declaration forms as requested.

Chief Justice said its irregular for the Electoral Commission to claim it gave Mbabazi lawyers copies of Declaration forms yet it did not.

“We want both hard and soft copies of the declaration forms which were relied on to declare the results,” Twinobusingye stated.

The lawyers also requested for BVVK machines and all the information on severs

However, the Electoral commission lawyer argued that giving candidate information on the servers is impossible.
