Kidnapped Army Officer Found Dead, Nigerian Army Confirms

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday said a senior officer, who was kidnapped over the weekend, has been found dead.

Spokesperson for the Nigerian Army Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman speaking before the press conference.

He said in a statement that Colonel Samaila Inusa, who was serving at the School of Infantry Jaji in Kaduna State, was found dead at about 6:00 p.m. local time.

"Preliminary investigation revealed that most likely the officer was killed same day he was kidnapped by his abductors because the body was found already decomposing around Ajyaita village off Eastern Bypass Kaduna, Kaduna State," he said.

Inusa was kidnapped at Kamazo Chikkun area of Kaduna State Saturday.

"Arrangements are in progress to move the body to 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna," he said, adding that "whoever is behind the abduction and murder would be fished out to face the full wrath of the law".
