But he was disappointed by the treatment dished out by the Bernabeu faithful following his recent poor form.

I just ask that they don’t whistle me. I always give my best, I work and I help Real Madrid.

And Ronaldo wants the hostile whistling to stop.

“I just ask that they don’t whistle me," he said.

"I always give my best, I work and I help Real Madrid.

“I didn’t tell them to be quiet – never.

"But I take the positive things. The team was good, we played well and obviously I’m happy with the goals."

Real will be joined in the semi-finals by their crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid, who advanced to the last four courtesy of a 2-1 aggregate victory.
