Both clubs are said to be interested in signing the Juventus defender this summer and it has been reported that Chelsea have made a £48million bid.

That figure is not expected to be enough to clinch his signature but they are not far off, with the Italian press claiming the Serie A champions value Bonucci at around £50m.

It is also suggested that Juve could be ready to sell the 30-year-old after resisting the temptation to cash in on him this time last year.

Bonucci arrived in Turin from Bari in 2010 and has since won six Serie A titles in a row with Juve, three of which came under the tutelage of current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

The manager, who needs a new centre-back this summer, wants a reunion with his compatriot at Stamford Bridge and could get his man when the window opens.
