Egypt U-20 beat Rwanda, advances to final round of 2017 AFCON qualifiers

Egypt U-20 national football team advanced to the final round of 2017 U-20 AFCON qualifiers following a 3-2 tough win over Rwanda on penalties in a dramatic and fiercely-fought game on Saturday.

The Pharaohs have lost 0-1 in the second leg played in Cairo Saturday but they claimed a 1-0 away win in the first leg played in Rwanda on May 22.

Having won the double-header, the Pharaohs will face the winner of Gabon’s clash against Angola to determine the 2017 U20 AFCON finalists, from which the final four teams will automatically advance to the 2017 U-20 World Cup scheduled to take place in South Korea.

The U-20 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Zambia next year.
