Rwandans in Zambia Advised to Avoid Risks after Looting, Deaths

Rwanda’s High Commission in Zambia urged its citizens there “to be alert and avoid unnecessary risks” after looting of foreign-owned shops in the capital, Lusaka.

Most of the people’s properties especially for the foreigners have been looted and others killed in Lusaka.

“There has been increased deployment of police presence even in areas not affected yesterday,” Abel Buhungu, the Charge d’Affaires at the Rwanda High Commission said in comments on his Twitter account.

Zambians on Monday looted foreign-owned shops in low-income areas around Lusaka, over suspicions of links to recent ritual murders.

At least six bodies have been discovered since last month, with body parts including hearts, genitals and ears removed.
