RNP commissions 364 cadets

This Friday,Rwanda National Police commissioned 364 officer-cadets of whom 33 females graduated with the rank of Assistant Inspector of Police at stade Regionale Nyamirambo.

The cadets’ pass-out coincided with celebrations for the 17th anniversary of Rwanda National Police, an event that was presided over by President Paul Kagame.

Speaking at the event, President Kagame hailed the officers for their continued cooperation and partnership with the general public noting that the police cannot achieve its mission on its own but require collaboration with citizens.

The celebrations were a chance for the police force to reflect on its milestones, achievements and strategies such as cooperation with the general public.

They also marked the end of Police Week, a month-long exercise of community outreach activities that is held every year.

This year’s exercise focused on connecting solar energy to thousands of households and providing clean water to different communities in the country, among others.

The cadets’ graduation follows about ten months of training, having started their course in August 2006
