"Rwandans Celebrate the Resilience of the Rwandan Spirit and hard work of Rwandans in our country’s transformation” President Kagame

Rwanda has Sunday paid a special tribute to the country’s heroes who put their lives on the line for their country, Chimp corps report.

Today, Rwandans converged at village levels to remember the lives of their heroes.

Prime Minister Bernard Mukuza, Defence Minister Gen James Kabarebe and Uganda’s Ambassador to Rwanda, Richard Kabonero, who also doubles as head of Diplomatic Corps in the country, attended the ceremony of laying wreaths at the Heroes Mausoleum in Kigali.

The Mausoleum contains the grave of former RPF commander, Maj Gen Fred Rwigyema and “the unknown soldier” which represents all combatants that died during the 1990-1994 RPF

February 1 is a special day meant to commemorate the roles played by the country’s heroes in different spheres of life and also reflect on values for which they are remembered.
